Our Omaha client needs your network engineering savvy to initiate projects, assesses infrastructure needs and prepares project plans. In addition, you will be the go to guy/gal for day-to-day maintenance of the network environment and creating project teams when necessary. Competitive compensation. Core Responsibilities:
* Acts as Network Engineer for WatchGuard, Cisco network infrastructure, VoIP and Mitel telephony equipment
* Maintains knowledge of LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, IPSec and SSL VPN, firewall access lists and policies
* Has working knowledge of Windows and Linux servers, VMWare, Hyper-V, Active Directory, SQL, IIS and Apache
* Installs or upgrades networking systems for both local and remote networks for a datacenter and user sites
* Manages seamless traffic redundancy and system uptime for our Disaster Recovery site
* Configuration of wireless and VoIP technologies
* Securing edge networks via firewall policies and rules
* Identifying and researching new products and solutions
* Ensuring high availability via redundancy and load balancing for critical portions of the network
* Monitoring and managing of alerts and notifications
* Ability to perform network analysis to determine root cause of outages
* Establishes and maintains the system security levels for various networks, and the data backup and restoration of all network devices
* Analyzes, plans, implements and maintains backup and recovery mechanisms
* Manages and plans for systems growth
* Troubleshoots hardware and software problems during working hours and after hours as required by urgency or nature of situation

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Bachelor s degree or an associate s degree with 4 years of related experience (or equivalent experience without degree)
* LAN, WAN, and WLAN design and implementation
* Network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices
* Understanding of switching (VLAN s, STP), routing (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP)
Voice (VOIP, SIP, Exceptional customer support and communication skills, both verbal and written

ITIL or similar methodologies
