DEPARTMENT FUNCTION/JOB OVERVIEW
  • Responsible for researching, evaluating, implementing, diagnosing, and maintaining availability uptime of Registration and Financial system (Affinity) and Clinical Documentation system (Sunrise). Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining computer hardware and software technical support and service for the entire facility, including technical service and support policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for consulting with end users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications in alignment with MRH business and clinical computing and networking needs. Responsible for diagnosing and solving network, server, and client computer based hardware and software problems.
  • Responsible for creating and documenting problem solving methodology for unique problems. Work will be performed in an ethical and legal manner following organizational policies, processes, protocols and procedures.
  • Responsible for quality service delivery and internal/external customer relations for as a whole, including upholding the mission and values for the department and facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Perform Affinity System and Sunrise Clinical Manager System Administrator functions including release management, utilizing various tools to monitor the systems, manage databases and troubleshoot problems, monitor and maintain servers, create and maintain user groups and menus, monitor and troubleshoot printers and printing problems, work with users and vendor support personnel to analyze and solve problems.
  • Maintain middleware software such as OS and database, Citrix presentation, HL7 interfaces, and the like.
  • Coordinate and perform complex application updates. Maintain all systems in support of Vendor hot fixes, releases, and upgrades, and facility requirements.
  • Analyze, coordinate, and synthesize with the vendors for all program creations, modifications, screen changes, report listing changes or requests and maintain logs to ensure contractor timely and accurate support.
  • Compile, analyze and record all LAN/WAN/W-LAN usage, LAN/WAN/W-LAN installation and configurations of the facility LAN/WAN/W-LAN.
  • Analyze, coordinate, implement and maintain, as appropriate the physical wiring infrastructure for all communication systems.
  • Ensures all computer software utilized at the facility is in full compliance with all legal requirements and recommends changes to maintain compliance.
  • Coordinate, compile and analyze all software and hardware to insure standardization of platform where appropriate.
  • Compile, analyze and coordinate computer hardware and software operational definitions and maintain documentation of hardware and software utilized at the facility.
  • Analyze, isolate, compare and coordinate installation and replacement of components to insure adequate and quality support of all hardware.
  • Compile, analyze and maintain a working knowledge of the computing hardware, software and components utilized at the facility.
  • Maintain awareness of new technology, or technology not currently utilized at the facility that might be beneficial to users. Communicate with immediate supervisor, customers and support customers in analyzing, implementing and coordinating such new technology.
  • Analyze, coordinate, compile, synthesize all programs and input data to ensure timeliness of processing and accuracy of reporting.

EXPECTATIONS

  • Ensure adequate backup of all job functions prevail in order that the business is well protected in the event of employees unable to perform duties by providing documentation of procedures.
  • Analyze, obtain, and utilize precision diagnostic utilities as an aid to diagnosing common malfunctions.
  • Set up, operate, handle, and maintain a working knowledge of the PC hardware, server and network hardware, cables, and other communication system components utilized at the facility.
  • Set up, install and operate all hardware and software required for effective information system support.
  • Set up, install, operate, and monitor the LAN/WAN/W-LAN. Initiate corrective and preventative changes as necessary.
  • Set up and maintain user accounts and logins on network, e-mail, and other software systems such as Affinity.
  • Ensure assigned projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Analyze, compile and record current research materials to keep departmental services up to date with the latest hardware and software.
  • Establish and maintain accurate, meaningful productivity measures, monitoring outcomes on a routine basis and taking effective action to meet such standards.
  • Maintains a clean, organized and safe environment. Handles and operates all necessary equipment and performs required duties according to established safety standards to maintain compliance with regulations and prevent injury.

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, engineering, teaching, or technical support related discipline; or the applicant must have an acceptable combination of education, IT industry certifications, and comparable work experience.

EXPERIENCE
  • Five years’ experience in support of automated office systems including hardware and software environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Windows based applications.
  • Experience setting up, troubleshooting and repairing LAN/WAN/W-LAN networking and PC hardware and software components.
  • Experience supporting and training PC end users and end user applications.

SKILLS
  • This position requires excellent oral and written communications skills, able to understand end users needs and identify solution alternatives.
  • Considerable problem solving, presentation, coordination and interpersonal skills are required to perform the planning, consulting and communicative responsibilities of this position.
  • This position requires the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Must be self-motivated, demonstrate excellent organizational, grammar and spelling skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must have ability to work in demanding situations without adverse reaction and interact in a positive manner with staff and public, either in person or by electronic systems. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
