Data Governance Analyst Onsite Omaha

Job Summary
This position offers the chance to be at the forefront of our client’s data catalog implementation, fine-tuning data content with the subject matter experts, and helping build a robust data literacy program. You will be instrumental in maintaining data quality and integrity, and in fostering a culture of data sharing and collaboration throughout the organization.  One of the big challenges faced is training and managing change while bringing non-technical users closer to the data they own. 


In this role, we are seeking a dynamic team player with a great attitude and personality to join our small team.  Experience with data governance and strong people skills to interface with and help train and educate the business.  If you understand data dictionary, data lineage, data profiling, translating data dictionary to catalog, at the context and meaning level, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities
  • Be an active participant in driving data adoption and literacy across the organization.
  • Train data owners and stewards such as accounting/finance with no experience or expertise in databases, tables, columns, views or related objects
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the data governance framework, including defining roles and responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and upkeep of the data catalog and data lineage documentation.
  • Help identify and address data quality issues, contributing to both immediate fixes and long-term solutions.
  • Provide support and insights on data governance best practices and tools

Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience with data governance tools and platforms.
  • High compliance with data governance best-practices and standards.
  • Prior experience building data literacy programs to educate business users on the discovery and usage of data related products
  •  
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related business degree
  • Certification in data governance, data quality, or data management.
  • Background in data engineering and data analytics.
